— Mohammed

When I was a young child, I dreamed of many dreams and scenarios about what I wanted to become when I grew up and graduated from university—except for the reality I am living now.

How much I wished to live in a world where I am not forced to prove that I deserve the chance to live.

But this is life, with its sweetness and bitterness. All you have to do is adapt to your reality, to your situation. There is no luxury of depression if you want to continue. The wheel keeps turning, and life goes on.

In recent months, many students have succeeded in leaving Gaza through scholarships, and all I want now is to follow their path and leave the harsh reality I am living. I got to know the ASwP organization, and they are truly wonderful people who help me strengthen my English skills, and I am truly grateful to them.

I cannot find the words to describe how I feel right now, except that I may be living in a time gap—standing on the edge between a heavy reality and painful memories, facing an unknown and frightening future.

I send my love to everyone who reads my words.
