Successful SSP scholars will receive:

1.Full tuition waiver (535,800 yen/year)

E2.xemption from entrance examination fee (15,000 yen) and enrollment fee (300,000 yen)

3.Monthly stipend of 150,000 yen for living expenses (for 3 years)

4.Travel & initial living allowance of 150,000 yen (for international students residing outside Japan with “Student” residence status)

Eligibility:

1.Obtain permission from a preferred SSP supervisor before applying.

2.Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent after 18 years of education) or be scheduled to graduate before the enrollment date.

3.Be 35 years old or younger at the time of enrollment (in principle).

4.Have an excellent academic record in both bachelor's and master's studies.

5.Possess the intention, knowledge, and research skills relevant to the chosen research field.

6.Demonstrate high English proficiency:

TOEFL iBT: Minimum 72 (Writing 17)

IELTS: Minimum 5.5 (Writing 5.5)

CET-6 or WSK (PETS-5) accepted.(Applicants may be exempt from English tests under certain conditions.)
